Heidi Kirkpatrick Hedrick, Founder and President
For more than 20 years, Heidi Kirkpatrick Hedrick has earned a reputation as the top fundraiser in Texas' largest market, Houston, and is one of the most sought after Democratic fund-raisers in the state.

Heidi, along with her team at Lone Star, works hard year after year to deliver her clients the resources they need to succeed. Her political experience and proven track record includes top-tier candidates and officeholders at all levels: federal, state and local.

When national Democrats travel to Texas, they regularly turn to Heidi to plan their trips and coordinate events to raise the needed funds. Leading PACs and organizations regularly tap into Heidi’s network for fund-raising and event management as well as timely and complete compliance filings.

Heidi conducts training seminars on fund-raising, event planning and the political process. Prior to founding Lone Star in 1990, Heidi spent seven years working for Democratic Icon, Jess Hay and often fondly reminisces about her studies at “Hay U” acknowledging she learned far more there than attending SMU or Northwood University!

Heidi is a member of the Junior League of Houston and volunteers at Hunters Creek Elementary and the Chapelwood School for Young Children. She and her husband Tom, their sons, Kirk and Matthew, and their two Labradors live in Hunters Creek Village. They are members of Chapelwood Methodist Church.

Matt Zeis, Project Director
Matt Zeis is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX with degrees in Political Science and History. Matt worked for the Harris County Democratic Party in their field organization and as a volunteer coordinator. He is also involved in Houston area historical societies and running clubs.

Lone Star Strategies works with interns each semester from Rice University, the University of Houston and the Texas School of Business.

Lone Star continually searches for experienced or entry-level individuals interested in political fundraising to work in democratic campaigns throughout the country. Applicants must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to handle multiple tasks, be detail oriented and highly motivated. Salary commensurate with experience.
